The Learning Center for the Deaf

The Learning Center for the Deaf (TLC) is a multi-service education and advocacy organization for deaf and hard-of-hearing students and their families. TLC also serves the community with ASL classes and audiology services. Historically known as The Marie Philip School, the state school for deaf and hard-of-hearing students, TLC recognized their need for a brand and website that better communicated the full scope of their mission and services. We partnered with Perkins Access (a service of the Perkins School for the Blind), Chilmark Marketing and the TLC staff to design and custom build a Drupal website with WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility compliance. The flexible website design leverages TLC's brand elements to unify the public face of the organization across all of its departments and services. We also worked closely with the staff on content strategy and created a custom photo library that captures the energy on campus. More than any other project, our success hinged upon our willingness and ability to become students of TLC, an experienced that has enriched our lives.
